The correct mounting of a dishwasher front

If a dishwasher is to be installed in a fitted kitchen, you will usually also be faced with fixing a dishwasher front so that the new integrated dishwasher fits as seamlessly as possible into your fitted kitchen and creates a uniform look.

Attaching front panels to a dishwasher

A dishwasher front is used to create a uniform look in the kitchen when a new dishwasher needs to be installed. As a suitable means, you can use a front panel to match your built-in kitchen. In terms of dimensions, this must match your dishwasher. However, often the appliances have standard dimensions, so there are matching front panels for the dishwasher. Make sure that the thickness of the panel is sufficient and a suitable mounting option as the front for the dishwasher.

How to fix a dishwasher front for a built-in dishwasher

If it is a built-in dishwasher, it is usually equipped with a suitable mounting plate for the dishwasher front. If necessary, you still need to use a template to mark the drill holes to make the appropriate drill holes and to attach the front to the dishwasher. To do this, proceed as follows, for example:

  • mark the holes as accurately as possible for the fastening screws using a template
  • carefully drill the fastening holes, paying attention to the drilling depth, which should not be more than about one centimeter
  • attach the front panel to the respective fixture on the dishwasher and fasten it with the help of the screws

If modifications to the mounting are necessary

There are sometimes different systems for attaching a dishwasher front panel to the equipment. Here, an adjustment may be necessary if you want to attach a front from a completely different manufacturer to your dishwasher. However, with a little skill, you can also make the necessary changes yourself. For example, drill holes need to be adjusted in order to attach the respective mounting screws. If you have the opportunity, simply take both assembly instructions of the respective manufacturers to help. These can often be found on the Internet. In this way, the necessary changes are usually much easier to make. Especially when drilling mounting holes, make sure that they are drilled in exactly the right place. Also, do not drill the mounting holes too deep. So proceed very carefully and thoroughly.
