You can sterilize toys in the dishwasher

No more spray bottles and wasted paper towels. Just load the dishwasher up with all the toys. Use regular dishwasher detergent with bleach for disinfectant action. If you worry about the environment, there are eco-friendly dish-washing detergents too. Even the heat of the water will disinfect safely.

Ever think of putting toothbrushes in the dishwasher?

Why not? Toothbrushes need frequent sterilization to be effective. Just rubber-band them together and place in the silverware compartment. Face bristles outward for optimum cleaning. Don’t forget toothbrush holders, soap dishes and other small bathroom items. These are tedious to clean by hand, but a breeze in the dishwasher.

How about brushes, combs and other hair grooming supplies?

You can clean scrunchies, clips and barrettes in the dishwasher too. Place these small items in a net bag so they don’t clog up the drain or get lost. Be sure to remove hair from brushes and combs before placing in the dishwasher. If you have cloth items, be sure they are color-safe or use borax in place of soap.

Worried about putting your delicates in the washing machine?

How about using the dish-washer instead? Place hosiery and delicates in a net bag, just like you would in the washer. There’s no agitation so they stay nice longer. Use vinegar in place of dish-washing detergent for hard water. Be sure to turn down the water temperature to prevent fading.

Ever Tried Washing Baseball Caps In Dishwasher?

The dishwasher under £300 does an awesome job of cleaning tennis shoes and baseball caps. Ever heard someone mention they are washing hats in dishwasher and you’ve thought it was a prank?

You can even buy a special holder that keeps baseball caps from losing their shape in the dishwasher. Be sure to scrape the dirt from tennis shoes before tossing them in. Tie them to the basket to keep them in place. You can use regular dish-washing detergent for white items. Borax or vinegar work well to keep colors from fading. But as you’ve realised this isn’t a prank, actually it’s common for people to be washing hats in the dishwasher, just obviously not when the dirty plates and cutlery is in there.

Personal experience, but these are not recommendations or suggestions, these are just some of the weird things I have used my dishwasher for apart from doing dishes, but I often am now found washing ball caps in dishwasher for the family. What I do like id the caps keet their shape and last longer in the long run. This is a cheap item to buy but pay for itself over & over again.
